VISITOR PROTECTION

Protection Policy:

The organisers of AnimeCon recognise that it is always unacceptable for a young person to experience abuse of any kind and acknowledge its responsibility to safeguard the welfare of all young people, by a commitment to practise which protects them.

  We recognise that:

  • The welfare of the child/young person is paramount
  • All young people, regardless of age, disability, gender, racial heritage, religious belief, sexual orientation or identity, have the right to equal protection from all types of harm or abuse.
  • Working in partnership with young people, their parents, carers and other agencies is essential in promoting young people’s welfare.

The purpose of this policy is:

  • To provide protection for young people who attend AnimeCon, including the children of adult members.
  • To provide staff and volunteers with guidance on procedures they should adopt if they suspect a young person may be experiencing or may be at risk of harm.

This policy applies to all staff, including directors, paid staff, volunteers and anyone working on behalf of the show or The Fanatic Group Ltd.

We will seek to safeguard young people by:

  • Valuing them, listening to and respecting them.
  • Adopting protection guidelines through procedures and a code of behaviour for staff and volunteers.
  • Sharing information about protection and good practice with young people, parents, staff and volunteers.
  • Sharing information and concerns with agencies who need to know and involving parents and children appropriately.
  • Providing effective management for staff and volunteers through supervision, support and training.

We are also committed to reviewing our policy and good practice annually.
